What areas do you travel to?

Laurel, Burtonsville, Columbia, Savage, Maryland City, and Hanover. I'm a licensed driver with my own car, so anything roughly 20 minutes from Laurel works.

Can you drive my kids to activities?

Yes. I have a valid driver's license and my own car, and I'm happy to handle school pickup and drop-off or drive to practices and lessons once we've agreed on it in writing.

What happens during a typical after-school shift?

Pickup, a snack, homework first, then free time or an activity. I tidy the kids' spaces before I leave and text you a short recap of the afternoon.

Is there a minimum booking?

Two hours for babysitting on a normal day, four hours on holidays. Dog visits start at a 30-minute walk and feed.

How do dog visits work?

$15 gets a 30-minute walk plus feeding and fresh water. $25 gets a full hour with extra play and cuddle time. You get a photo check-in after each visit.

What's your cancellation policy?

Just let me know at least 24 hours ahead and there's no charge. Same-day cancellations are fine occasionally, I'd rather you be honest than stressed.

Are you certified in CPR and First Aid?

Certification is in progress. I have four years of experience with kids and pets, and I come from a family of caregivers and educators.

What do you do in an emergency?

I keep your contact numbers, a backup contact, and any medical or allergy notes on hand for every booking, and I call you immediately after calling 911 if it's ever needed.

About Mya

A sitter families trust with the everyday stuff

I'm Mya, a Laurel local and a senior at Laurel High School. I graduated from Laurel Christian Academy Middle School, spent three years at Takoma Academy, and came back home to Laurel for my senior year. I know these neighborhoods and the school routines here.

I've been babysitting for neighbors and family friends for four years. I'm the eldest of three children and I come from a family of caregivers and educators, which makes this work second nature to me. I'm patient with little ones, genuinely fun with older kids, and I actually enjoy the homework hour.

Caring for people is the thread through everything I do. The summer after tenth grade I worked as a teacher's aide, and last school year I interned with a psychiatrist. I have been in HOSA, the health occupations student association, for all three years of high school, meeting twice a week after school to learn from different health professionals.

I also love to bake, and I am always happy to bake with the kids I watch. It is an easy way to keep an afternoon fun and end up with something everyone is proud of.

With pets, I'm the person who sends you the extra photo. Feeding schedules, meds, walk routes, and crate routines all get followed exactly the way you write them down.
